Hey there, Nourish to Bloom family and my fellow sisters in Christ! Welcome back to another episode of Nourished to Bloom. Today, we're navigating a slightly different path due to unexpected circumstances in my household but one that's equally important.
In this episode, we delve into establishing a foundation of trust in intuitive eating. Trust is the cornerstone of our journey, especially when life throws us curveballs, like a good old stomach bug. So, let's dive into how you can lean into trust — trust in your body, trust in your relationship with food, and ultimately, trust in God's larger plan for you.
Key Takeaways:
- Surrender and Trust : Life’s unpredictability can be an invitation to pivot and place our trust in the Lord.
- Intuitive Eating and Trust : Unlike diet culture, intuitive eating is about trusting your body and its signals, a practice that can deepen your trust in God.
- The Faith Led Food Freedom Program : A Christ-centered approach to healing your relationship with food and your body by fostering trust.
To support you on this journey, I shared a few key prayers I personally lean on:
- Lord, that Your plan is greater than anything else, Jesus I Trust in You
- Jesus, I surrender myself to You, take care of everything.
- Lord, take my efforts and multiply them.
Plus, I led you through one of my absolute favorite prayers, the Litany of Trust. This prayer beautifully encapsulates the essence of laying down our fears and anxieties at Jesus' feet and embracing trust.

00:00:01
Hey there, nourish to bloom family and my fellow sisters in
00:00:05
Christ. So I'm coming to you completely unscripted today.
00:00:09
We, my household, my family has been hit with a stomach bug.
00:00:13
So while I had this
00:00:16
podcast planned out for you, talking about
00:00:20
the, what success looks like with intuitive eating, kind
00:00:24
of, you know, really helping you visualize that before and after, after
00:00:27
you go through this Christ centered intuitive eating, I will fully
00:00:31
admit that I do not have the energy to
00:00:35
really deliver that podcast the way that I really want to. And so
00:00:39
today I'm pivoting a little bit, and I'm coming to you to one ask
00:00:43
you for prayers for our household. As you,
00:00:47
as fellow moms can attest, I really think the stomach bug is like the
00:00:50
worst thing to ever deal with because it's like
00:00:54
that, just uncertainty, right? You know, you have one kid that's sick
00:00:57
at home, and they're definitely sick, and then you have maybe other kids,
00:01:01
and you're like, well, I mean, you're not sick yet. Are you gonna be sick?
00:01:05
Do I send you to school? Do I not send you to school? Just kind
00:01:07
of all of those things with motherhood. So prayers
00:01:11
for healing for my sick kiddo, as
00:01:15
well as prayers for protection over the rest of us.
00:01:18
So we do not pass this thing along because
00:01:22
being for a really long week. But I wanted to come
00:01:26
to you really with this idea of trust because I was sitting
00:01:30
there and I was thinking about, like, do I need to lean into this
00:01:33
week? You know, with having sick kids, it kind of puts your
00:01:37
plans in a wrench for the week, right? Everything that you thought might, you
00:01:41
might have accomplished or you wanted to focus on, you have to pivot, you have
00:01:44
to change course and course correct. And this is where that surrender
00:01:48
piece is so beautiful, right? We tend to want to be in control
00:01:52
of everything, and that only promotes that self reliance. And when we can
00:01:56
shift that away, right, when we are making and
00:01:59
living our lives with that Christ and in perspective, it's
00:02:04
that sense of surrender and trust that starts to
00:02:08
be the major way that you
00:02:11
operate and the way that you focus on living your
00:02:15
life of like, Lord, I'm going to turn this over to you. So it's
00:02:19
exactly what I'm doing this week. And I think that
00:02:23
idea of trust is so critical, especially when we're looking at intuitive
00:02:27
eating. I know some of you came and listened to the webinar last week that
00:02:30
I hosted, and it was so great to see some of you in person and
00:02:33
kind of meet you. If you haven't listened to the webinar. I
00:02:37
actually posted it as a podcast episode, so
00:02:41
you should just be able to go to the episode right before this one and
00:02:44
relisten to the webinar. There's some really, really good
00:02:48
tidbits in there, some really new information. I think part of
00:02:52
one of my favorite parts of it, of it was really
00:02:55
delivering kind of
00:02:58
this motivation for why
00:03:02
we as christians should care about our health and why we should make our health
00:03:05
Christ centered. So definitely go check that out. But
00:03:09
getting back to this idea of trust,
00:03:14
that's kind of the key point of intuitive eating, is
00:03:17
it's this trust. It's this trust in our bodies,
00:03:21
which is so different than dieting and so different from,
00:03:25
you know, weight loss programs. And so if you're sitting
00:03:28
here and you're like, man, I'm really kind of interested in this intuitive
00:03:32
eating thing, but I just don't know if it's for me. Maybe you listen to
00:03:35
the webinar and you're like, okay, I kind of, kind of want to do this
00:03:39
faith led food freedom program, but I just don't know. I want you to lean
00:03:42
into the idea of trust and really
00:03:46
listen to what is the Lord offering you?
00:03:51
Could he be offering you this freedom and this chance to go
00:03:54
grow in trust through the faith led food freedom program?
00:03:59
And I think trust, like I said, is that foundational
00:04:03
piece of intuitive eating, because you're really learning to trust your
00:04:06
body again. Trust that it knows what it needs and knows
00:04:10
how to take care of you, so then you are living
00:04:14
a healthy lifestyle. And what I find is
00:04:18
that people who lean into this trust within their bodies, it
00:04:21
only allows them to lean further into trust in the
00:04:25
Lord. So I'm going to leave you in this
00:04:28
episode with kind of my three prayers that I lean into most
00:04:32
days out of the week, and definitely what I'm leaning into this week, and then
00:04:36
I'm going to leave you with a prayer called the litany of trust.
00:04:39
And that was written by Sister Faustina Maria Pia for
00:04:44
the sisters of life. Pretty sure that's what it is.
00:04:47
Hold on. Written for the sisters of
00:04:51
life. And I have to say it's probably one of my
00:04:55
absolute favorite prayers. So I'm
00:04:58
gonna. I'm gonna leave you with that for this week, because maybe you
00:05:02
are in a place with whatever is going on in your life that
00:05:06
you need the words to offer up to the Lord
00:05:09
to help you with finding that foundational
00:05:13
trust in whatever decisions you're trying to make and whatever
00:05:17
things you're trying to accomplish. This week. So kind of the three
00:05:21
prayers that I lean into are, Lord,
00:05:25
that your plan is greater than anything else. Jesus, I
00:05:29
trust in you. And Jesus, I
00:05:32
surrender myself to you, take care of everything.
00:05:37
And finally, Lord, take my efforts,
00:05:40
take what I have to offer, take my gifts and multiply
00:05:44
them. So I'm going to lead you through the
00:05:48
litany of trust,
00:05:52
name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. From
00:05:56
the belief that I have to earn your love. Deliver me,
00:05:59
Jesus, from the fear that I am unlovable
00:06:04
deliver me, Jesus, from the false security that
00:06:07
I have what it takes. Deliver me, Jesus,
00:06:11
from the fear that trusting you will leave me more
00:06:14
destitute. Deliver me, Jesus, from
00:06:18
all suspicion of your words and promises. Deliver me,
00:06:22
Jesus, from the rebellion against childlike
00:06:25
dependency on you. Deliver me, Jesus,
00:06:29
from refusals and reluctances and accepting your
00:06:32
will. Deliver me, Jesus, from
00:06:36
anxiety about the future. Deliver me,
00:06:39
Jesus, from resentment or excessive
00:06:42
preoccupation with the past. Deliver me, Jesus,
00:06:47
from restless self seeking in the present moment. Deliver
00:06:51
me, Jesus, from disbelief in your love
00:06:55
and presence. Deliver me, Jesus, from
00:06:58
the fear of being asked to give more than I have.
00:07:02
Deliver me, Jesus, from the belief that my life
00:07:06
has no meaning or worth. Deliver me, Jesus,
00:07:10
from the fear of what love demands deliver me,
00:07:14
Jesus, from discouragement deliver
00:07:17
me, Jesus, that you are continually
00:07:21
holding me, sustaining me, loving me
00:07:24
Jesus, I trust in you that your love
00:07:28
goes deeper than my sins and failings and transforms
00:07:32
me Jesus, I trust in you
00:07:35
that not knowing what tomorrow brings is an
00:07:39
invitation to lean on you. Jesus, I trust
00:07:42
in you that you are with me in my suffering
00:07:46
Jesus, I trust in you that my suffering
00:07:50
united to your own will bear fruit in this life and the
00:07:53
next. Jesus, I trust in you that you
00:07:57
will not leave me orphan, that you are present in your church.
00:08:01
Jesus, I trust in you that your plan is better
00:08:05
than anything else. Jesus, I trust in you
00:08:09
that you always hear me and in your goodness always respond to
00:08:13
me. Jesus, I trust in you that you
00:08:17
give me the grace to accept forgiveness and to forgive others.
00:08:20
Jesus, I trust in you that you give me
00:08:24
all the strength I need for what is asked. Jesus, I
00:08:28
trust in you that my life is a
00:08:31
gift. Jesus, I trust in you that you
00:08:35
will teach me to trust you. Jesus, I trust in
00:08:39
you that you are my lord and my God.
00:08:43
Jesus, I trust in you that I am your
00:08:46
beloved one. Jesus, I trust in you
00:08:50
amen. In father and son and holy spirit. Amen. Thank you
00:08:54
for praying with me. Gosh, every time I pray, it
00:08:57
just, I just love it so, so much. It's really
00:09:01
just, I feel like it's just pouring my heart out, right? All the
00:09:04
insecurities, all the doubts, all the anxieties, all the things that I truly,
00:09:08
really desire are just all in that prayer. So
00:09:12
if you are needing more trust in your
00:09:16
life to trust in the Lord and where he is calling you, I invite you
00:09:19
to pray the litany of trust. And then
00:09:23
I also want to remind you, as I close this
00:09:27
episode out, that there is still time for you to join the faith
00:09:30

00:10:33
Thanks again for bearing with me this week. With this podcast
00:10:37
episode being kind of a little out of the norm, but hey,
00:10:40
that's just kind of what motherhood is like, right? We kind of have to pivot
00:10:44
and and trust that it's all going to be okay as long as you place
00:10:48
it in Jesus's hands. So I hope that you have a
00:10:52
wonderful and blessed week, and if there's any way that I can pray for
00:10:55
you, please send me a message and I would be happy to do that. So
