00:00:00
One of the biggest reasons why people don't make
00:00:04
lasting changes in their life is because they
00:00:07
give into the fear. The fear of the what
00:00:11
ifs and the worries. Well, what if I fail? What
00:00:14
if this doesn't work just on and on with
00:00:18
what ifs and worry? But when we give in to
00:00:22
those fears, what we're doing is really giving in to
00:00:26
the enemy. And the way that he operates, the doubts
00:00:29
that he puts in our minds, keeps us stuck
00:00:33
right where we are. Despite the fact that we really want things
00:00:37
to be different, we stay stuck where we are.
00:00:40
Nothing changes. Nothing gets better. So in
00:00:44
today's episode, I am going to tackle some of the
00:00:47
common what ifs and worries that I see come up
00:00:51
that keep people from trying intuitive eating, from making
00:00:55
those changes, from breaking free from diet culture,
00:00:59
from healing their relationship, relationship with food and their body.
00:01:02
And I want to do this because I want to help you to better
00:01:06
be able to recognize these lies that are
00:01:10
bringing about this fear. So you can
00:01:13
know that it's the enemy that's operating and keeping you stuck.
00:01:17
And you can choose, if you want to
00:01:21
move past that fear, to lean into
00:01:25
the Lord and take action and make
00:01:29
these changes. So let's get started.

episode of the Nourish to Bloom podcast. I'm your host, Kara
00:03:15
Trochta, and I hope that you are having a
00:03:18
great week so far. Gosh, it's hard to believe, guys, we are
00:03:22
26 episodes into the podcast.
00:03:26
That's awesome. And I think it's cool. I love
00:03:30
to see the number of downloads and the number of listeners and
00:03:33
the feedback that I've been getting. It's so awesome because here's the
00:03:37
deal. You're taking in all this information,
00:03:41
probably things maybe you've never heard before. You're
00:03:45
seeing nutrition and health and wellness from a different
00:03:48
perspective. And maybe even some of you have recognized
00:03:52
that maybe there is a problem with your current approach to health
00:03:56
and wellness. Like, you're becoming more aware of the
00:03:59
fact that diet culture has had some impact on your life.
00:04:03
You're consuming this information, you're learning and gaining
00:04:07
knowledge. All of this to really help you decide
00:04:11
if intuitive eating is something you want to try.
00:04:14
You're acknowledging that you really don't want to be stuck in
00:04:18
this diet culture and weight loss trapdoor. And you're
00:04:22
realizing that the damage that you've suffered from those
00:04:25
repeated weight loss attempts. You're starting to get more
00:04:29
curious about intuitive eating and wanting to learn
00:04:33
more. You really desire to make those
00:04:36
changes, to heal your relationship with food and your body. And like, maybe
00:04:40
you even tried to take some small steps. Maybe you're starting to
00:04:44
listen to your hunger and your fullness cues more. Maybe you
00:04:48
are leaning more into some of what we talked about when it comes
00:04:51
to body image. Maybe you are looking
00:04:55
for foods that are more satisfying. But aside from these, like, first
00:04:59
few steps, you really aren't taking big
00:05:02
action. And here's the real reason
00:05:06
why this is happening. It's because you're
00:05:10
frozen in fear and doubt. You really
00:05:13
don't know if intuitive eating will work. And you
00:05:17
probably have some fears that you may gain weight or that
00:05:21
you won't lose any weight. And then you're scared
00:05:25
that you won't be able to stop eating these
00:05:28
forbidden foods if you give yourself that
00:05:31
unconditional permission to eat. And then it's just going to end up in this downward
00:05:35
spiral and you're going to feel out of control.
00:05:40
But let me ask you this. What
00:05:44
is knowledge without action. You
00:05:48
have gained so much knowledge over the last 26 episodes
00:05:51
about intuitive eating. So why are you not
00:05:55
taking that action? Because
00:05:58
knowledge without action is like a goal
00:06:02
without a plan, just being a wish.
00:06:06
Do you just want to keep wishing you could heal your relationship with
00:06:09
food and your body or do you actually want
00:06:13
to do it? I think the answer is you
00:06:17
probably really, really want this,
00:06:21
but you will never break these unwanted habits or make these
00:06:24
changes without taking action.
00:06:28
But unfortunately, too often we tell ourselves
00:06:32
this lie that, well, we're just not ready, that we need to know
00:06:35
more about this thing before we're actually going to try it,
00:06:39
or that we need to know that if we do this,
00:06:42
everything's going to be okay by the end of it. That we're going to. We're
00:06:46
going to get what we want out of this.
00:06:49
Unfortunately, just like most
00:06:52
things in life, like there's just not that kind of guarantee with our
00:06:56
life. We can't know that if we step out in faith and
00:07:00
we try the next thing or we take the next right step that it's going
00:07:04
to end up the way we want it. But when we have this
00:07:07
faith and we trust in the Lord to when we take these steps,
00:07:11
we know that even if it doesn't work out the way that we really kind
00:07:14
of want it to, that if we are walking with him, it's going to turn
00:07:18
out good. You're, you're going to learn something.
00:07:22
Like in life, you're either winning or you're learning. You're either winning
00:07:25
because you're reaching that goal and things are going the way that you, like,
00:07:29
have really planned or the way that you've wanted, or you're learning something about
00:07:33
it. You're learning maybe what didn't work
00:07:36
or the next step is just revealed to you as you
00:07:40
keep on going and you're seeing, okay, well, I need to do this first before
00:07:44
I can do this other thing. And that's you and God collaborating.
00:07:49
So why do we ultimately let fear win out
00:07:52
more often than nothing?
00:07:56
Because when we let fear win, it really means that
00:08:00
ultimately we're letting the enemy win.
00:08:03
And we sometimes choose to
00:08:07
live in this fear, to live in these what ifs and these worries and
00:08:10
not step out in faith because we think that we're
00:08:14
protecting ourselves from frustration or from
00:08:17
hurt or disappointment. But the
00:08:21
reality is, is that when we let fear win, we miss out.
00:08:26
I just finished reading this rom.com book and in it,
00:08:30
this one best friend is telling the other one that is in love
00:08:34
with this woman that
00:08:37
he's afraid to let himself love this woman because he
00:08:41
has this heart condition. And he's told himself that it's
00:08:45
better if he doesn't open himself up to love, but
00:08:48
his best friend is telling him that isn't it better to
00:08:52
leave the world better because you
00:08:56
existed and you lived in it, than if you leave it with nothing
00:08:59
because you were too scared to do something?
00:09:03
I mean, wow. Are you too scared to do something? Are you too
00:09:07
scared to do something about your relationship with
00:09:11
food and your body? Those are some pretty powerful words
00:09:14
to consider. And for many of us, we've
00:09:18
let our weight or our body appearance hold us
00:09:21
back from doing and achieving so many things in
00:09:25
our lives. So
00:09:29
how do we move past this fear and this doubt? Well,
00:09:33
we really have to take action. I mean, the best way to
00:09:36
overcome fear is just to take one step. And I, trust me
00:09:40
when I say that, I know that that is so hard.
00:09:43
But I also think that it's helpful to kind
00:09:47
of really call out some of these what ifs and these worries
00:09:51
because this really allows us to see how the enemy
00:09:54
is working through this fear. So that's what I want
00:09:58
to do. Today we're going to explore a few of these common what ifs
00:10:02
and worries because I want to help you
00:10:06
move past this fear, to move past these what ifs and these
00:10:10
worries and this doubt and to start taking action.
00:10:14
To start taking the action that you need to take in order to become an
00:10:17
intuitive eater in order to heal your relationship with food in your
00:10:21
body so you can leave the world in a
00:10:24
better place because you existed and you lived and you
00:10:28
did God's will. So what if, number
00:10:31
one, what if I fail at intuitive
00:10:35
eating? Okay, so this particular worry
00:10:39
comes from the fact that you haven't had a any long term
00:10:42
success with other diets, weight loss or nutrition
00:10:46
programs. So you're really wondering that if that wasn't
00:10:49
successful successful, how could you trust that intuitive eating would
00:10:53
actually work for you? I mean, it's a
00:10:56
legit worry, but I have to remind you that
00:11:00
intuitive eating is unlike anything you've ever done
00:11:04
before. It's so very different from
00:11:07
those diet culture approaches that focus solely on weight
00:11:11
loss through those restrictive behaviors and rules.
00:11:14
And that's probably why you may be hesitant. Because
00:11:18
if diets have these specific rules and you couldn't stick with
00:11:22
those, I mean, how are you ever going to be able to do something that
00:11:25
requires you to trust your body? But it's that
00:11:29
piece. It's that learning to trust your body.
00:11:33
That is why intuitive eating is so
00:11:36
effective because it's really more of this
00:11:40
forever approach versus that rollercoaster of
00:11:44
the ever changing rules that come with diet
00:11:47
culture. Like with intuitive eating, you
00:11:51
learn this once and it carries you through all
00:11:54
stages of life, whether you're pregnant, whether you're
00:11:58
perimenopausal, whether you're going through menopause or you're post
00:12:02
menopausal. Maybe you have a daughter and she's a
00:12:05
teenager and you're trying to help her through intuitive eating. Intuitive eating is
00:12:09
something that carries you through all stages of life,
00:12:14
and it doesn't trick you or change the rules the
00:12:18
way that diet and weight loss does.
00:12:21
Christ centered intuitive eating allows you to reconnect
00:12:25
and tune into the wisdom of your body.
00:12:29
That wisdom that has been given to
00:12:32
you by the one who designed and created you,
00:12:37
God. So he created your body with this internal
00:12:40
wisdom in order to help you
00:12:43
know when and how to eat and how to nourish your
00:12:47
body. So that's really why this is
00:12:50
not going to fail. This is really why you can trust that this will
00:12:54
work. See, like, you really can't fail. Because again, you're
00:12:58
only learning. And each time you eat, it's an
00:13:02
opportunity to better learn your body, to better understand
00:13:06
this wisdom that God has, has given you.
00:13:09
You get to learn what you like, what foods make your body feel
00:13:13
good, when everything you've tried up until this point
00:13:17
has have told you exactly what, what, and how much to
00:13:21
eat, without any regards for your preferences or the
00:13:24
outcomes, or without any regards to that internal wisdom that
00:13:28
God put within you. So with intuitive eating,
00:13:32
you get to regain that control and take charge of
00:13:35
figuring out the best way to care for yourself. By leaning
00:13:39
into the wisdom of God's human design,
00:13:43
intuitive eating will work for you because you are
00:13:46
regaining trust in your body. For me, learning
00:13:50
that I could trust my body, that I
00:13:54
could trust the way that God designed my body to work,
00:13:57
was really this doorway into trusting the Lord more.
00:14:02
It was like, huh, if I could trust him
00:14:05
when it came to what I ate and how to care for my body,
00:14:09
then surely I could trust him with bigger things, with
00:14:12
greater things in life. It was an invitation to
00:14:16
better know the Lord and allow him to move and work in my life. Instead
00:14:20
of thinking that I needed to be in control of everything, it
00:14:24
was realizing he has already given me the
00:14:27
wisdom to take care of myself and to take care
00:14:31
of me, his creation.
00:14:35
Remember, God created you in his image and likeness, and that gives
00:14:38
you the authority to be the expert of your body.
00:14:42
It gives you the wisdom to be the expert of your body and the ability
00:14:45
to care for it in the way that God intended.
00:14:49
And I think it's also this opportunity to
00:14:53
really be able to imitate Christ's compassion and mercy.
00:14:57
He is so patient and gentle with us when we make
00:15:01
mistakes or when we stumble or when things don't go, we don't
00:15:05
do the things that he really wishes that we would do.
00:15:08
And through intuitive eating, we learn to have that same
00:15:12
compassion and mercy for ourselves
00:15:16
and share that same compassion and mercy with others. So there really
00:15:19
is no failing at intuitive eating. There's
00:15:23
only learning how to care for yourself a
00:15:27
little bit better each and every day.
00:15:31
Okay, what if, number two, what if
00:15:35
I can't stop eating? Okay.
00:15:39
So I know that the idea of giving yourself unconditional permission
00:15:43
to eat scares you, because in the
00:15:46
past, any time that you have eaten the foods that you
00:15:50
think you quote unquote shouldn't, or you've eaten those quote unquote
00:15:54
forbidden foods, it only leads to you overeating
00:15:57
them, and then you feel like garbage, both physically and
00:16:00
emotionally. So you're sitting here wondering, how can I
00:16:04
possibly trust myself around these foods?
00:16:08
And, man, oh, boy, do I get this one. Like, I hear it all the
00:16:11
time from women. I mean, I heard it in my own mind several
00:16:15
times. I can't keep XYZ in the house because I can't trust
00:16:19
myself around that food. I was 100%
00:16:23
the same way. Diet culture has taught
00:16:27
you to fear these foods through that
00:16:30
restriction and that avoidance, but this only leads
00:16:34
to you obsessing and craving and then binging these
00:16:37
foods. This is known as that restrict binge
00:16:41
cycle and that kind of
00:16:45
thing that happens where you allow yourself to have it and then you binge off
00:16:48
of it. Like, that leads you to feeling like you have this
00:16:52
whole plethora, this whole bunch of evidence that you really
00:16:56
shouldn't be trusted around these foods. But I want to be clear.
00:17:00
The reason you feel like you can't stop eating these foods
00:17:04
is because it's a side effect of diet culture.
00:17:07
Because when diets and weight loss programs tell
00:17:11
you you shouldn't eat this or you can't have that because
00:17:15
it's not on your plan, it only increases that
00:17:18
desire for that food.
00:17:22
Because the reality is, is that you probably don't want to
00:17:26
eat chocolate cake or cheeseburgers all day long, but you probably
00:17:29
would really like to be able to enjoy a piece of birthday cake
00:17:33
or be able to order what you really want at a
00:17:36
restaurant. And I promise you that intuitive eating can
00:17:40
help you do that. The intuitive
00:17:44
eating framework has very specific tools
00:17:48
that teach you how to make peace with these foods. So
00:17:51
you gain trust in yourself around these foods, you
00:17:55
practice it, and then you're able to keep any
00:17:59
food in the house. When you follow these
00:18:02
tools, you'll find that you actually start to crave these
00:18:06
foods less and less. The problem in the past
00:18:10
is that you haven't had the right tools to be
00:18:13
successful. But with intuitive eating, now you
00:18:16
will. I used to not be able to
00:18:19
keep, like, anything in the house. Cookies, candy,
00:18:23
I couldn't bake things because I couldn't trust myself not to eat them all.
00:18:27
And now, like anything you could imagine
00:18:30
is allowed in my house. And we make things
00:18:34
available on a really regular basis, and I don't end up in
00:18:38
this, this binge cycle the way that I used to.
00:18:42
I want you to remember that God's design for your body includes
00:18:45
a natural desire for a variety of
00:18:48
foods. And I think that's really important, because
00:18:52
that that will remind you that you're not going to end
00:18:56
up eating chocolate cake and cheeseburgers all day long.
00:19:00
This means that you were born as an intuitive
00:19:03
eater and that you were programmed to
00:19:07
want foods that nourish and support your body nutritionally,
00:19:11
as well as foods that taste good and bring
00:19:14
satisfacture, satisfaction, and pleasure. I
00:19:18
was trying to say satisfaction and pleasure, and it came out satisfactor
00:19:22
anyway, but foods that taste good and bring
00:19:25
satisfaction and pleasure to the eating experience.
00:19:29
And when you allow this to happen, when you make peace with food and you
00:19:33
give yourself that unconditional permission to eat, it really
00:19:36
allows you to lean into and embrace that
00:19:40
design for your body. That includes that desire for a variety
00:19:44
of foods. It allows you to again, choose those foods that
00:19:48
are nourishing, but also be able to enjoy those foods that just taste
00:19:51
good without guilt and without shame. And it
00:19:54
naturally leads to that moderation and
00:19:58
balance that so many of us desire.
00:20:02
But what's happened is that diet culture has caused a
00:20:05
glitch in your programming. But
00:20:09
together, through working through the intuitive eating framework,
00:20:13
I will help you restore yourself to
00:20:17
that intuitive eater you were born to be. And when you're
00:20:20
living as an intuitive eater, you have that natural
00:20:24
ability already within you, through that natural body wisdom,
00:20:27
to be able to stop eating, no matter what that food
00:20:31
is. Okay, what if,
00:20:35
number three, what if I still want to lose
00:20:39
weight? Can I do intuitive eating if I still want to
00:20:42
lose weight? So it is 100%
00:20:46
normal to still want to lose weight? With how much
00:20:49
attention our society and our
00:20:53
culture puts on weight loss, it would be really hard to just
00:20:56
snap your fingers and say, okay, I don't want. I don't want to lose weight
00:21:00
anymore. I don't have that desire anymore. But here's the
00:21:04
thing. I can work with that
00:21:07
desire. We can work with that desire that you have to
00:21:11
still lose weight. When I start working with a
00:21:14
client who still very, very much wants to lose weight, I don't
00:21:18
start them off trying to convince them to not want that or tell them
00:21:22
that they're wrong for wanting that because it's been
00:21:25
conditioned to want that. Instead,
00:21:29
my approach is to start them off with learning to
00:21:33
recognize their hunger and their fullness cues, to
00:21:36
learn to recognize the language of their
00:21:40
body. Why? Well, there's two reasons.
00:21:44
Number one, because learning the language of your body is
00:21:47
beneficial to everyone, even if you want to lose
00:21:51
weight. Being able to understand the physical cues
00:21:55
like hunger and fullness are gifts from
00:21:58
God to help us be able to not only take care of our
00:22:02
physical needs, but when we are attuned with these physical cues,
00:22:06
we can also recognize our emotional needs. And
00:22:10
everyone needs to know how to be able to do that. Because when
00:22:13
we use these, these physical cues, this language of our
00:22:17
body that God has gifted to us, we can become more
00:22:21
emotionally stable, and it also helps improve
00:22:24
our mental health because we are not falling victim to
00:22:28
these emotions over and over again. And the second reason
00:22:32
why I start off with learning to recognize hunger and fullness
00:22:35
cues is because it helps you get
00:22:38
little wins. These little wins
00:22:42
are so important and necessary on this journey,
00:22:46
because for so much of your life,
00:22:50
in the dieting and weight loss areas, you haven't had really
00:22:53
very many wins. Your wins came with losing a little bit of weight,
00:22:57
but then you didn't have a win when you gained that back.
00:23:01
But when I have clients start to recognize that, like,
00:23:05
hey, I can trust my body today,
00:23:08
I was able to know when I was hungry, and then I was
00:23:12
able to put my fork down and say, huh, I'm full. And I stopped
00:23:16
eating, and there was still food on my plate. These little
00:23:19
wins go a really, really long way, because
00:23:23
little wins build up on top of each other. And then those little
00:23:26
wins are what keep you going.
00:23:30
And these little wins help you in being.
00:23:34
Being open, to really start dismantling the
00:23:37
beliefs that you have about weight, because you're seeing the
00:23:41
proof. You're seeing the proof that you can trust your body.
00:23:45
And when we're starting this journey, having a little bit of
00:23:49
proof helps us be able to
00:23:52
really take these.
00:23:56
These deep, deep rooted beliefs that we have
00:23:59
about food and we have about weight and health and wellness, and
00:24:03
start to see that
00:24:07
they aren't really standing on a very firm foundation,
00:24:10
because your beliefs about weight are really like a jinga tower,
00:24:15
and your tower is that belief that you need
00:24:19
to lose weight. But what I help you
00:24:23
do when you're ready on this journey is
00:24:26
I start to pull out those blocks which
00:24:30
make up that tower. And each one of those blocks
00:24:34
is a smaller belief or a thought that has
00:24:38
helped you build that tower of belief that you need to lose
00:24:41
weight in order to be healthy. So we're going to pull these.
00:24:45
These blocks out, and we're going to examine it, and
00:24:49
I'm going to challenge you to hold it up to God's truth. We're going to
00:24:53
look at each one of these and see, is this something that you still want
00:24:56
to think? Is this something that you still want to believe?
00:25:00
And we're going to do it block by block and see if that
00:25:03
tower is still standing. When we're finished,
00:25:07
you can come and you can start this believing that you still
00:25:11
want to lose weight. But I can guarantee you,
00:25:15
by the time we finish working together, we will have
00:25:18
dismantled those diet culture beliefs piece by
00:25:22
piece, and untangle that web of lies
00:25:26
that has been spun in your mind so
00:25:30
you can clean up your thoughts and instead renew your
00:25:34
mind with God's truth about you and your
00:25:38
body. Look, I know. I know
00:25:41
how hard it is to break free from that desire, but just remember, it's
00:25:45
okay to begin your intuitive eating journey. Still wanting to lose
00:25:49
weight? Many people do. Many of us
00:25:52
spend years trying to lose weight without success. And it can make us feel a
00:25:56
little desperate to really try anything.
00:26:00
I mean, that's where. That's where I was when I started this. I still wanted
00:26:04
to lose weight. I still wanted to,
00:26:07
like, finally see myself as thin and
00:26:11
feel beautiful. But I was also
00:26:14
so tired of doing a all the
00:26:18
things right and still
00:26:21
not reaching a goal, still feeling like
00:26:25
I was battling this out every single day with counting
00:26:29
calories and tracking things and logging it into an app and.
00:26:33
And for what? To jump from, you know,
00:26:37
one thing to the next. So I was
00:26:40
desperate. And in that desperation, I
00:26:44
decided to try intuitive eating because I figured I really had
00:26:47
nothing to lose. Like, if it didn't, quote unquote, work,
00:26:51
then, oh, well, I was just right back to where I started,
00:26:55
and I just move on to the, you know, next thing to try,
00:26:58
like I had been for years. But y'all,
00:27:02
that next thing never came.
00:27:05
Because intuitive eating was the thing that
00:27:09
worked. And I get that the idea
00:27:13
of possibly gaining weight can be scary.
00:27:17
But to think about this, what would it be like to
00:27:20
not have to obsess over what you eat, to not have
00:27:24
to deal with the ups and downs of dieting, finding the
00:27:28
plan, buying the things you need for the plan, trying to stick with it, feeling
00:27:32
frustrated and miserable the whole time, because it's really not fun
00:27:35
and it's really not working. And so then you have to start
00:27:39
this process all over again every few months,
00:27:44
the time, the money, the energy that this has cost you.
00:27:49
And for me, when I think about that,
00:27:53
it's been worth the possibility of any weight gain to
00:27:56
not have to be stuck in that cycle anymore.
00:28:02
I've traded in anxiety, frustration
00:28:05
and disappointment for peace, joy
00:28:09
and contentment, something I really never thought was
00:28:13
possible. To wake up in the morning and just feel
00:28:17
contentment, to feel calm, to not
00:28:20
be ridden with anxiety or stress. So,
00:28:24
yeah, for me, like, I'm okay with wherever my weight
00:28:28
falls because I have enough trust in myself and
00:28:31
in my body and God to never go back to diet
00:28:35
culture. And so maybe
00:28:39
you need to borrow a little bit of that faith that I have. Maybe you
00:28:42
need to borrow a little bit of my trust, a little bit of my story,
00:28:45
a little bit of my hope, as you start to really think
00:28:49
about, are you ready to take action, are you ready to
00:28:52
really do the work, to become an intuitive eater?
00:28:56
Because intuitive eating empowers you to focus on the things
00:29:00
that you can control. You've maybe spent your whole life trying
00:29:04
to control your weight, and has it worked?
00:29:08
Could it be worth trying something new? The
00:29:12
research about intuitive eating shows a wide variety of
00:29:15
health benefits, like improved blood pressure, improved
00:29:19
blood glucose, improved cholesterol. And
00:29:23
an intuitive eating lifestyle promotes an intake of a wider
00:29:27
variety of nutrient dense foods. You have more
00:29:31
consistent exercise habits and an improved body
00:29:34
image. And these things go
00:29:38
a much further way. These things go
00:29:42
a longer way to supporting your overall
00:29:45
health than just focusing on weight
00:29:49
loss. So if you still want to lose weight, then it's
00:29:52
okay. But I challenge you to really ask yourself why?
00:29:56
Because probably deep under the desire that you have for a better looking
00:30:00
body or toned arms, then there
00:30:04
probably is really this desire for better health.
00:30:07
And I guarantee that that can be achieved with
00:30:11
intuitive eating, no matter what happens to your weight.
00:30:16
Okay, what if, number four, I've
00:30:20
spent so much money on weight loss and diet
00:30:24
programs, I'm afraid to spend money on this.
00:30:29
I mean, this is a legit concern. There's a good
00:30:33
chance that you feel burned by all the programs you've spent money on in the
00:30:36
past that haven't worked. And then we have to, you know,
00:30:40
take into consideration any worries you have about our current economic
00:30:43
situation. I get it. I do.
00:30:47
But I really believe that intuitive eating is an approach
00:30:51
that should be accessible to all. Like, I have felt
00:30:55
for so long that this is the secret to
00:30:59
better health for so many people
00:31:02
that they just don't know about. And I feel that it's a powerful
00:31:06
tool that can help people improve and maintain their
00:31:10
overall health and wellness, mind, body, and soul, no matter
00:31:13
what their socioeconomic background is.
00:31:18
Because intuitive eating empowers you to make your own food choices
00:31:22
based on your preferences and your budget, not based on diet
00:31:26
cultural rules. And that means that
00:31:29
anyone can make food choices based on what is
00:31:32
best for them and their wallet. I mean, I
00:31:36
really think about, one of the things that irritates me the most about diet culture
00:31:40
is that they've really made, quote
00:31:44
unquote, healthy eating expensive
00:31:47
through this promotion of organic
00:31:51
and grass fed and pasture raised marketing, along with,
00:31:54
like, the shakes and supplements that they deem
00:31:58
necessary in order to reach the goal in order to be
00:32:01
healthy. And this is sending a message out that if
00:32:05
you cannot eat this way, if you cannot afford to eat organic, grass
00:32:09
fed, pasteurized, if you cannot afford to buy this shake or this
00:32:12
supplement, then there's no possible way for you to be healthy.
00:32:17
Is that true? I really don't think so.
00:32:21
It's like telling people that if you can't buy an organic
00:32:25
apple, then it's just better if you eat a candy bar than eating a
00:32:28
conventional apple. These
00:32:31
messages that are being sent out are too all or
00:32:35
nothing, and they're too polarizing, because the truth is
00:32:39
that not everyone can afford to eat organic or grass
00:32:42
fed or, you know, et cetera.
00:32:46
But intuitive eating can be for everyone,
00:32:49
regardless of their budget. Like,
00:32:53
for example, when you are empowered to make your own
00:32:56
food decisions, someone may not be able to afford fresh
00:33:00
produce, but they can afford maybe canned fruits and
00:33:03
vegetables. So isn't it a better option
00:33:07
to buy the canned fruits and vegetables than no fruits and
00:33:10
vegetables? But diet culture has made us believe
00:33:14
that canned is bad. And so then
00:33:18
we have so many people who are just aren't buying fruits and vegetables because they
00:33:21
can't afford them, and then they're made to feel bad if they buy
00:33:25
the canned option. There's just been this
00:33:29
pressure put on us to eat perfectly and that
00:33:33
we have to in order to be healthy, and that we're buying into all
00:33:37
of these quote unquote diet culture approved foods
00:33:41
that cost a lot of money and half the time end up
00:33:44
going to waste. Therefore we're just wasting
00:33:48
more money. But I really
00:33:52
think that intuitive eating can help you save money on groceries because
00:33:56
you are choosing foods again based on your preferences,
00:34:00
not on diet rules, so you can make
00:34:03
cost effective decisions and choices and how you spend your
00:34:07
food dollar. You get to plan your
00:34:11
meals and decide if you are going to buy organic or
00:34:14
not, all based on what you can
00:34:18
afford without fear of what will happen to your health.
00:34:23
And I believe so strongly in intuitive eating that
00:34:26
it's one of the reasons why I started the podcast, to be able to
00:34:30
offer a free resource to help you learn more about intuitive
00:34:34
eating and be able to start the journey.
00:34:38
And it's also why I'll continue to offer free webinars and
00:34:42
challenges to help you start to take that action.
00:34:45
But y'all, I really also believe in the power of coaching
00:34:49
and working with someone to help you on this journey
00:34:54
too often, and I am guilty of this, we often think that
00:34:58
we can diy it all to be able to save money,
00:35:02
but we end up quitting or not
00:35:06
really reaching our goal because we have a lack
00:35:09
of support, encouragement and accountability when we try to do it
00:35:13
all on ourselves. Do it all ourselves.
00:35:17
I also think that coaching is important because
00:35:21
each of you has an individual struggle and
00:35:25
belief with regards to weight and dieting and
00:35:28
health. And as your coach, I will help
00:35:32
you see your mind and examine your particular
00:35:36
thoughts and beliefs, and what that will get you is
00:35:39
a fast track to success. You will become an intuitive
00:35:43
eating eater faster because I can help you
00:35:47
more effectively and efficiently tackle those biggest
00:35:50
obstacles of you becoming the intuitive eater, which are your
00:35:54
beliefs and your thoughts. Like, I'm not saying that you
00:35:58
can't do this on your own, but I will say that it's quicker and
00:36:01
far less painful to have me help you along the way.
00:36:05
Anytime that I have ever signed up for coaching for anything,
00:36:09
whether it was for business, for starting a
00:36:13
podcast, whatever, I have always
00:36:17
come out so much more effective and efficient in
00:36:20
whatever I was trying to learn. And so I want
00:36:24
to be able to help you with that efficiency and that effectiveness
00:36:28
and fast track you,
00:36:31
reclaiming that intuitive eater that's within you, that you were
00:36:35
born to be. Which is why I've priced
00:36:39
my ten week faith led food freedom at a price that I really believe
00:36:42
is doable for most budgets. And I also offer
00:36:46
a variety of payment options, including an option
00:36:50
to be able to pay for it over a six month period.
00:36:53
Because I want to be able to help you do
00:36:57
this and I want to be able to make this accessible to
00:37:00
you without you feeling like you have to
00:37:06
not be able to stay on a
00:37:09
budget. So if intuitive eating
00:37:13
is something that you are really serious about and you are ready to take that
00:37:17
action, I really kindly invite you to consider
00:37:20
working with me on your journey. Because these what
00:37:24
ifs and these worries are born out of fear.
00:37:28
Ask yourself what the enemy gains by you not becoming an
00:37:32
intuitive eater. In short, he keeps you stuck
00:37:36
believing the same lies about yourself and distracted from seeking out
00:37:39
and living that purpose that God needs you to
00:37:43
fulfill. For him. The time is now
00:37:47
to let go of dieting and weight loss, to embrace
00:37:51
God's human design, to embrace the internal wisdom that he has put in
00:37:55
each one of us with Christ centered intuitive eating.
00:37:59
Because the world needs your unique talents and
00:38:03
gifts and it's time to stop letting
00:38:07
your weight and diet, culture and all these lies
00:38:10
keep those unique talents and gifts buried.
00:38:15
So I want to remind you and invite
00:38:19
you to the free webinar that I'm hosting
00:38:22
this Thursday, September 5 at 11:00
