Are you ready to tap into your inner strength and unlock your God-given potential?
Hey there, it's Kara Trochta, and I'm thrilled to welcome you to the Nourished to Bloom blog! This is more than just a blog—it's a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and growth, and I'm so excited to have you along for the ride.
It Starts with a Seed
You know, it's amazing how everything in life starts with a seed. All the potential of what could be is packed inside that tiny seed, just waiting to sprout, grow, and bloom. But it takes more than just planting the seed—it needs nurturing and nourishment to truly thrive.
I’m reminded of the parable of the mustard seed. The smallest of seeds becomes a magnificent tree that provides shade for the birds. A small, maybe insignificant seed that contains the power within it, that God put inside of it, the potential to grow into something beautiful that has a specific purpose. We are like that mustard seed. Inside each of us is a God-given power to grow into something beautiful with a specific purpose. This is what I want for you.
I’m also reminded though, of the parable of the sower. While Jesus was teaching us the importance of the state of hearts to receive the Gospel through this parable, I think it’s also a reminder that we, like the seeds, need the right conditions and nourishment—mind, body and soul— to be healthy and thrive in order to bear good fruit with our lives.
But too often, we remain the seed. Never planted to reach it’s full potential, all the power still within it. Unless a seed is planted, unless you take action, it remains nothing but potential. At some point as Father Mike Schmitz says, “That potential has to become actual, otherwise we really don’t ever become anything.”
Unfortunately, many of us waste that potential because something holds us back from taking the action.
In my practice I see two things get in the way of women being able to bloom:
- A constant struggle with food, weight loss and body image
- Lacking self-knowledge and self-awareness—not really knowing who they are in relation to God or what their gifts and talents are
A root cause of these struggles is that we have stopped looking inward, towards the Holy Spirit to guide us, and have started living our lives based on external standards, ideals and recommendations. The resulting lack of confidence and a distorted view of themselves leaves many women feeling lost and confused, creating a sense of uncertainty with regards to their purpose and God’s will for their lives.
As I reflect on my own journey to overcome these struggles and the seeds that have been planted in my life, I realize that our beliefs and habits are like seeds, too. Some grow into beautiful flowers, while others may become weeds that need to be uprooted. But together, with God's guidance, we can cultivate a beautiful garden with our lives.
A God-Given Mission
That's why I created the Nourished to Bloom podcast—to help women like you tend to their garden and blossom into the version of themselves that God intended. Together, we'll uproot those invasive beliefs about food, nutrition, and body image, and plant new seeds that align with God's unique human design and plan for your life.
I'm here to share my own experiences, insights, and lessons learned, as well as practical tools and resources to support you on your journey. Whether it's exploring intuitive eating, developing a positive mindset, or discovering your unique purpose, I'm committed to providing guidance rooted in scripture and evidence-based science.
Pulling Weeds
But let me tell you, this journey hasn't always been easy for me. As a Catholic Christian wife, mom of three, and professional in nutrition and wellness, I've faced my own struggles with food, body image, and self-worth. It wasn't until I surrendered to God and started to heal my relationship with food and my body that I truly began to hear His voice and understand His plan for my life.
And now, I'm passionate about helping other women do the same. Through the Nourished to Bloom podcast and blog, I'm on a mission to create a community where women can find support, encouragement, and the right conditions to grow and thrive.
A place where we can all be a part of the beauty of God’s garden. As St. Thérèse of Lisiuex said it best—to understand that every flower created by Him is beautiful, that the brilliance of the rose and the whiteness of the lily do not lessen the perfume of the violet or the sweet simplicity of the daisy.
What Can You Expect?
So what can you expect? Well, I'll be releasing new posts every Tuesday, covering a variety of topics including:
- Intuitive eating

- Managing emotions, and more.
Some episodes will feature my personal stories, while others will include interviews with experts and friends.
Please know that I am NOT a theologian, and I never intend to take scripture out of context, but I will share easy in which scripture has spoke to me to inspire change, healing, and comfort to keep a Christ-centered perspective to our topics.
But no matter what we discuss, my goal is to provide you with practical tools, resources, and inspiration to help you on your journey. I want you to feel empowered to step into your full potential and live a life of authenticity, health, and beauty.
So go ahead, hit that subscribe button, and join me on this journey of growth. Together, we'll unlock the God-given power that's within each of us and bloom into the radiant women God created us to be. I can't wait to see where this journey takes us!
Adapted from a quote from John Harrigan, beauty held is the seed, beauty shared is the flower. Remember, it’s your time to bloom—to come into full and health and beauty so you can bear good fruit for the Lord with your life!
Thanks for reading and prayers for many blessings until next time!
Adios!
